Mumford & Sons General Store in Sydney
We’ve been spinning the new Mumford and Sons album, Babel, today and are liking what we hear. It comes out this week, by the way. To celebrate the release in Australia (where the band are pretty much as big as they are in the UK), there is a pop-up General Store where fans can escape from the dusty streets of central Sydney and relish in all things Mumford & Sons. Whether it be a film screening, live art, whisky flights or a board game, the Mumford & Sons General Store and the M&S Saloon have put aside a night, day or weekend worthy of your company.

MUMFORD & SONS GENERAL STORE CAFÉ
10am-6pm, Every Day – Free coffee, free wifi, listen to the new album and lounge around on comfy couches. Sounds good, hey?
M&S SALOON WHISKY FLIGHTS
7pm – Late, Fridays & Saturdays
Friday and Saturday evenings will see Mumford & Sons’ General Store convert to the M&S Saloon. Stocked with the finest ARDBEG Single Malt Scotch Whisky and manned by gentlemanly barmen, the M&S Saloon will provide Whisky Flights until morning is nigh. We drank our bodyweight of the stuff at the launch the other night and can reveal it is awesome. Obvs this is for 18+ only.
THE TOURNAMENT
Saturday Afternoons
To add a bit of healthy competition to the coffee sipping, Mumford & Sons General Store will host ‘The Tournament’ on Saturday afternoons. Monopoly maestros and Scrabble savants, this one is for you.
LIVE ART
After 2pm, Sunday Afternoons
It’s the fight club of the art world and it has now landed at Mumford & Sons General Store. Be a part of the creation on Sunday afternoons when artists from Sydney’s Secret Walls collective will be instore creating art works live.
BIG EASY EXPRESS SCREENING
7pm start for an 8pm screening, Wednesdays
Three bands, six cities, one train and thousands of miles of track. Big Easy Express is a cinematic musical journey, following Mumford & Sons, Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros and Old Crow Medicine Show as they climb aboard a beautiful vintage train in California and journey through to New Orleans, Louisiana. M&S Saloon will be hosting special free screenings of this magical film on Tuesday evenings, with free popcorn in tow. Free and not ticketed – first in best dressed policy.
LIVE ACOUSTIC NIGHTS
On Wednesday evenings M&S Saloon will host live acoustic sessions from local artists. First off the rank will be none other the R.L. Jones.
FAN LAUNCH PARTY
7pm – Late. Thursday 20th September
On the eve of Babel’s release, the Mumford & Sons General Store will convert into one big all-in party. Drinks will be shared, compliments of ARDBEG Single Malt Whisky, as Mumford & Sons fans mingle. Of course ‘Babel’ will be playing in full, and it will be the first place in the world where purchased copies can be taken home. Making the event even sweeter, every fan through the door will receive a limited edition Mumford & Sons Screen Print.
