Angelo Kehagias takes you to another world

We love a good art exhibition at Something You Said. Truth be told, we don’t mind a bad one so long as we can have a couple of glasses of complimentary wine while we are there. But, free vino or not, there is no doubting that the Other Worlds exhibition in Sydney this week will be an absolute cracker, as it features pictures of some of our favourite musical acts.

Other Worlds is a collection of portraits from esteemed Australian photographer Angelo Kehagias, who first entered music photography with his portraits of Mercy Arms. The band were adorned in various costumes, and set against the backdrop of the vast Australian interior, evoking an other-wordly existence. This shoot established the tone for Angelo’s entire body of work. Departing from the traditional headshot portrait, Angelo seeks to create narratives within his photography. Capturing the mood first created within the artist’s music, Angelo then re-imagines it through photography.

The exhibition will feature portraits of Something You Said’s mates Temper Trap and Julia Stone, as well as Washington, Lisa Mitchell, Art vs Science, Ladyhawke, Kate Miller-Heidke, Passenger, Elizabeth Rose, Deep Sea Arcade, Little Red, Belles Will Ring and many more. If you have a bit of space on your wall, then all prints will be available for purchase. Deets are below and the facebook event is here.
