And Darkness Came. A Hurricane Sandy Benefit

and darkness came-001As he tends to, Neil Martin points us in the direction of some cool music. And, the best thing about this mega long album is that it helps two good causes. What an all round winner:

The rather splendid electronica, experimental and instrumental music blog, Headphone Commute, has compiled and released a wonderful compilation available for download from Bandcamp for $10US (or more if you are feeling particularly charitable) in support of aid for Hurricane Sandy survivors. All proceeds from the sale of this stunning compilation will go to Doctors Without Borders and The Humane Society to help them support those affected by Hurricane Sandy.

The compilation features a staggering 87 tracks and over 6 hours of the finest in contemporary ambient, experimental and modern classical music with artists such as Clint Mansell, Max Richter, Nils Frahm and Maps & Diagrams contributing tracks, some of which were specially recorded for the album.

You’d be a fool to miss out on such a bargain and it all goes to a very worthy cause. I have only just touched the surface of the delights on offer in this compilation and cannot wait to immerse myself in the remaining 5 hours.

Have a listen below and then purchase …and darkness came here.
