SECRET EMPORIUM is left of centre

secret emporiumWe love independent, original fashion that’s a bit leftfield, so we’re keen as mustard to check out Secret Emporium, which catches designers when ideas and ambitions are fresh, creative and exciting and when their designs have not been commercialised. Secret Emporium believe that everyone should have access to independent designers and be able to make that a viable choice over the high street and, after a successful summer tour, which included The Secret Garden Party and Wilderness Festival, Secret Emporium has been invited to stage a 10-day pop-up in London, at Boxpark Shoreditch.

Highlights at the Boxpark Pop-Up (conveniently situated by Shoreditch’s Overland Station on the very edges of the City) will include Lizzie Burns who, three years ago was awarded Secret Emporium’s first ever scholarship. Working primarily in reclaimed leather, Lizzie creates ethical, three-dimensional and abstract jewellery inspired by science and magic. Her label has previously caught the attentions of Nicole Scherzinger, Ellie Goulding, Eliza Doolittle and TEED.

Inspired by road kill and taxidermy, Tessa Metcalfe Jewellery finds beauty in London’s gutter. Tessa casts the feet of pigeons in gold and adorns them with rubies and pearls to create beautiful talismans of fine art jewellery. You can also see designs from Ali Forbes (an RCA graduate), SJ Stylee (wild catsuits!), Shop Floor Whore (who hails JESSE J as a fan of her turbans), Rosita Bonita, Spanglewear, Diane Turner, Yas-Ming, Puckoo Couture, Kate Gilliland, Wolf + Moon and Fox & Belle.

The opening party is on 15th March from 6pm – 8pm, so head along and enjoy first look exclusives and the chance to buy many one-off pieces before the passing scenesters get their hands on them. There’ll be drinks by Belvedere vodka, Cakes by Pomp De Franc and DJs spinning the tunes.

If you can’t make the launch, then the pop-up will run from Saturday 16th March until Sunday 24th March. To find out more about Secret Emporium, go to www.secretemporium.com and to read more about other upcoming Secret Productions events, then visit www.secretproductions.net
