Ma. Gallery’s Fourth Birthday Party

simpsonsWe wouldn’t usually support four-year-olds partying at the Oxford Art Factory in Sydney till ungodly hours of the morning, but ma.gallery is a feisty young lass and will do as she pleases. That’s right, the humble Chippendale art space, ma.gallery, is turning four years old and to celebrate they’re holding a shindig with a sweet lineup of bands, a bevvy of artworks to peep at and… live tattooing? Yikes!

The band lineup includes dudes from Sydney and interstate, The Pieter Van Den Hoogen Band, The Nugs, The Living Eyes, Whipped Cream Charges (we interviewed them, check it here), In Helvetica, La Mancha Negra (sick), Los Tones, Dead Farmers, Box of Fuck (charming name).

DJ’s spinning rock n roll tunes that will make you twist and shimmy include Flash (Route 66), Velvet Gallagher (Velvet Cave), Honeybear & Blackbear (Mother & Son), Los Sprouler (La Mancha Negra), Howlin Alvarez (La Mancha Negra), Alex Girlans/Alison Hobbes (Broadside Zine).

And finally, those providing the art, both on canvas and skin, include Sydney visual artists Jumbo, Esjay, our old chum Bridge Stehli, Bennett, with Melanie Milne, Scott Eastlake and Battle Royale Tattoo Parlour who will be leaving lasting ink impressions on daring punters.

It’s all happening this Saturday April 6, at Oxford Art Factory. The party starts at 8pm, don’t be late as there will be ‘complimentary drinks’. Pre-sale tickets will set you back 15 bucks if you get them here but if you are more of a late organiser (ain’t no body got time for that), there will be tickets on the door for 25 smackers. Be there!
