The National have their Demons

In the second most exciting piece of news you’ll hear today (after New Zealand passing the gay marriage bill), Brooklyn legends The National have returned with ‘Demons’, the first track lifted from their highly anticipated new longplayer, ‘Trouble Will Find Me’, which is released on Friday 17th May. ‘Trouble Will Find Me’ is the sixth studio album for the Brooklyn band, and follows 2010’s critical and commercial success ‘High Violet’.

The record sees the band in a very direct and coherent mood and suggests this is The National at their most confident. Guitarist Aaron Dessner said, “Our ideas would immediately click with each other. It’s free-wheeling again. The songs on one level are our most complex, and on another they’re our most simple and human. It just feels like we’ve embraced the chemistry we have.”

Have a look and listen to the above clip. What do you reckon? A strong return?
