Something You Said Birthday Giveaway!

Next week, somethingyousaid.com celebrates its first birthday! We’re incredibly excited at how amazing the last 12-months have been in your company and we’re mega-grateful of the fantastic support you’ve given us. So we’d like to give a little some some back.

We’ve teamed up with Sydney-based record label, Spunk, and are giving away to one lucky reader a bundle of records, including: Autre Ne Veut’s “Anxiety”, Calexico’s “Algiers”, Bored Nothing’s brilliant “Bored Nothing”, Akron/Family’s “Sub Verses” and Yeasayer’s super awesome “Fragrant World”

emilyTo be in it to win it, all you gotta do write/draw/sing/photograph us a birthday message, share it on your Facebook and tag Somethingyousaid.com’s Facey page (@somethingyousaid.com) so that we can see your genius creation. Or of course, just post it straight on our timeline.

So, get creative guys… You could take a selfie of you holding up a little “Happy Birthday Something You Said” sign. You could write us a poem. You could draw us a picture. Or just write a nice status update wishing us a Happy 1st Birthday. On the left you can see an example that American singer/songwriter Emily Grove came up with.

Entries will close on August 4th, after which we’ll pick our favourite and contact them via Facebook. Next week, we’ll stick everyone’s efforts on the site and on our Facebook for the world to see, alongside the ones we’ve received from our celeb chums like Julia Stone and Danielle Sharp.

Just remember to tag our Facebook when you post your creation. Full Terms and Conditions for competitions can be found here.

Good luck you legends, we can’t wait to see what you come up with! Oh, and be sure to keep an eye on Something You Said next week as there is gonna be so much birthday awesomeness on the site.

GIVEAWAY UPDATE! If you’re Sydney-based, then be sure to get your entry in before Tuesday 30th July and you’ll also be in with a chance of scoring a double pass to (Something You Said’s very own) Jack Colwell’s gig at FBi Social on Thursday 1st August. Jack Colwell and The Owls will be supporting Post Paint and Kira Puru & The Bruise (what a line-up!).  The winner of this spin-off giveaway will also receive a bunch of goodies from the three acts too, including CDs and maybe even a T-shirt. We’ll pick a Sydney-based winner on Tuesday (and, of course, everyone – even the winner – will remain eligible for the other prize too).

Ps: if Facebook is being a little bitch and not letting you tag us in your statuses(you might need to Like our page first), then you can always email your pics to admin@somethingyousaid.com).
