Music: Fanny Lumsden & the Thrillseekers

KC band shot 2013

Barnstorming Australians, Fanny Lumsden & the Thrillseekers, have been firmly on the Something You Said radar for ages now. Since we interviewed them last year, the band have taken their awesome country hoedown on tour in support of their debut EP, Autumn Lawn and we’re stoked that they’re now back with a brand new song, Sea Elephant School. This will be the first single from their second EP set for release in November this year.

Fanny wrote Sea Elephant School whilst sitting on the verandah on the family’s farm in the shadow of Mt Buffalo. Inspired by her Grandmother’s stories of life dictated by a Mountain and growing up on King Island where the Sea Elephant School was a beacon for the community, Fanny produced a heartfelt track that was a direct interpretation of her surroundings.

Fanny and gang will be launching the single at Folk Club at The Soda Factory in Sydney on the 31st July and then heading out around Australia in August, performing at visiting country halls, regional towns and city centres. Have a listen to the new single below and then check out Fanny’s tour dates here. Oh, and you can download the single FOR FREE here.
