PANDORA launches ESSENCE Collection

Essence_PR_styling_03_cmykAesthetically, there are certain things that undeniably express your identity, individuality and sense of self. Your haircut (for better or worse in some circumstances) and your sartorial sensibilities, for instance. More subtly perhaps, but maybe even more so, is your choice of jewellery, which unequivocally embodies something central to our lives and ourselves.

Since the days of Queen Victoria wearing heart-shaped lockets containing locks of her children’s hair, fashion has been in love with statement bracelets. Brilliantly-named street style snapper Tommy Ton has made it his specialty to zoom in on bracelet bling mania, from stacked bangles and spiky cuffs to neon-coloured beads and striking charm bracelets.

The charm bracelet has become a modern classic that keeps gaining momentum: not since the charm trend of the 1950s has the charm bracelet been this in demand. These special pieces with certain significance may stand out in any extravagant ‘arm party’ that you may present to the world.

Essence_PR_styling_11_cmykWhich brings us to an interesting new concept. The PANDORA ESSENCE Collection, in which you can basically create an item of jewellery specific to your values. Accompanying the classic PANDORA charm bracelet, the new collection symbolises meanings, enabling women to express themselves through a choice of 24 charms representing key values such as joy, hope, love, loyalty, passion, balance, compassion and health (had we launched the collection we’d have probably included a charm that represented, ‘reallymissingbreakingbad’ as well).

As a totally new innovation, hand-finished sterling silver charms now slide onto the bracelet in any which position, meaning wearers can take total control of their styling.

PANDORA was conceived in in 1982 as a small jeweller’s shop in Copenhagen by goldsmith Per Enevoldsen and his wife Winnie, yet has grown into a worldwide trendmaker with their fanbase spanning generations. Working with the Future Laboratory, one of the world’s most renowned future and trend agencies, research showed a growing desire – in an increasingly turbulent and fragmented world – for something real and true, for empowerment and emotional connections.

Tapping into this notion, Essence_PR_styling_09_cmykPANDORA zoomed in on four megatrends (megatrends is a cool word isn’t it?) – empowerment, harmony, belonging and commitment – and aimed to represent these key inner values within the new collection.
