Spookyland – This Silly Fucking Thing

If you have recently broken up with your significant other (you’re better than them, babe), your cat/dog/hamster/Tamagotchi recently died, someone yelled “twat” at you while you were driving, or you simply didn’t have enough spare for an extra latte this morning and feel a little grumpy, then this track is for you.

It’s from Spooklyland – a compelling new project from Sydneysider Marcus Gordon. He forces his powerful vocal to breaking point to deliver this totes emosh track.

The video was directed by Rory Pearson (whom previously created stuff for PVT and Seekae) and shot by cinematographer Leo Townsend. It’s a sad video that follows a cute young boy pursuing a young beautiful thing – a pretty girl wearing flowers in her hair. The video is hazy and well shot, but I would have been happy to watch Gordon, with a blackened paint mask, for the entirety of the five or so minutes due to the exhausting passion that he delivers with each note.
