JPS Africa Music Retreat in Tanzania

JPS Music retreat

Are you a Musician, DJ, Producer or MC wanting to share in yours/others love of music whilst having the African adventure-of-a-lifetime? Yes? Then JPS Africa may just have exactly what you are looking for.

They are currently in the final stages of finalising their new Music Retreat in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania, East Africa. They will be offering very affordable short and long term escapes for Musicians, DJs, Producers and MCs who wish to travel, explore and exchange musical knowledge and inspirations. Their property lies on the outskirts of Dar Es Salaam and is a secure, peaceful compound with 10 rooms, swimming pool, a great bar/pub, rehearsal room for bands, a stage and capacity for up to 700 people.

Your stay can be subsidised in several ways. “Play to stay” – You will of course be invited to play at their in-house events. Additionally with their growing East African network they have the ability to pack you off on a mini East Africa tour including the beautiful island of Zanzibar. “Teach to eat” – You can further supplement your stay and add real value to your experience by teaching local students how to DJ, produce their own music on PC or even play an instrument. Workshops will be run during your stay. You will also get to mix and meet with musically minded people from all over the world.

What you need to do first is get in touch with JPS by emailing jahpsound@gmail.com. They will require links to your most recent mixes or productions and a short bio so they can begin to look at where they can place you in order to subsidise your stay. It is quite easily possible for you to subsidise your stay to as little as £100 full board per MONTH. Beer is 71 pence a pint! What more do you need to know?

Speaking from my own experience, I flew out to Dar Es Salaam in October 2013 and DJed at an amazing beach party. I was properly looked after by JPS and had a blast. The Tanzanian people were extremely friendly and welcoming. My only regret is that I wish I could have stayed longer to explore this beautiful country.

I would thoroughly recommend the JPS Africa experience, so get in touch with them now.
