Photos – DMA’s at Oxford Art Factory, Sydney

DMA's 2

Somethingyousaid.com was born in Newtown and our spiritual home is Oxford Art Factory. So when we discovered that Newtown’s own DMA’s (dee-em-ayes) were playing two nights at the OAF, there was no way we were going to miss this coming together of awesomeness.

So on Saturday, we sent our intrepid photographer, Adam Davis-Powell, along to the Darlinghurst venue to catch the up-n-coming band in action.

The friends that make up DMA’s have come a long way since demoing a bunch of tunes in Johnny Took’s bedroom-studio, as they proved with their nostalgic garage-pop winning over two nights’ worth of crowds at Sydney’s best live venue. Comparisons to Oasis are inevitable yet complimentary and the lads have been gaining fans outside of their home city too, with NME picking them as a buzz band to watch, Blur’s Dave Rowntree naming ‘Delete’ his Record of the Week on XFM, and the group selling out their first national tour.

The future sure is bright for these lads. Here are some photos from DMA’s at Oxford Art Factory last Saturday, where they belted out anthems from their self-titled debut EP. Click the pics to enlarge.
