New Music: Red Bull 20before15

20before15

Wanna hear some sick new sounds? Well, here’s something pretty cool. As part of an overarching commitment to nurture a network of creatives and their artistic development, Red Bull are in the process of delivering a series of 20 exclusives tracks in 20 days from 33 artists.

All artists involved in the series have played an integral role in one of Red Bull’s various musical programs and projects throughout the past year and are therefore people you should prolly have on your radar. Notable contributors include the Lebanese blues rock duo The Wanton Bishops, psychedelic tropical bass outfit Dengue Dengue Dengue, as well as the lyricist from Odd Future’s hip hop collective, Earl Sweatshirt.

You can have a listen to today’s track and, if you are timely enough, download if for free at the 20before15 website. Head back there again tomorrow for a brand new cut from an equally awesome artist.

And while we’re talking about Red Bull, the Australians amongst you might be interested in checking out Let Them Eat Cake, a NYD shindig at Werribee Park. Storming headfirst into its third boutique outing, Let Them Eat Cake returns to the pristine lawns of Werribee Mansion with a suitably rakish feel, architecturally abstract aesthetic and cutting-edge sound.

If you want to escape the confines and the crowds of the city, then this is a uniquely arts-focused event with the very best in electronic music, and Red Bull Music Academy will be there, presenting the Palace of Versailles stage. The line-up includes international acts Hudson Mohawke, Goldie, Cashmere Cat, Mr Carmack, Fatima and Alexander Nut, plus local acts Nam, ASPDfeat. Cazeaux O.S.L.O, Rat & Co. and Silent Jay feat. Jace XL. Second release tickets are $160 (including all fees) and are on sale here.
