Video Premiere: Em George – Paper Hearts

We’re very excited to Premiere the new video from an artist you seriously need to keep on your radar. Sydney-based singer/songwriter Em George nods to Beth Orton and Carole King with a little bit of Regina Spektor thrown in for good measure and has just released her latest song, Paper Hearts,

Here’s the history lesson. Em took an interest in songwriting after discovering the likes of Lou Reed, The Beatles and Leonard Cohen (not bad influences, by the way). After which, she set about teaching herself the guitar and it wasn’t long before her first single, Murderers On The Inside, was being given plenty of radio play and blog love.

Following her second single, Truth, comes the beautiful new release, Paper Hearts, the above video for which was shot at Sydney’s Luna Park, where the rare opportunity was provided to use the Hall of Mirrors in Coney Island for the entire video.

The Sydneysiders amongst you might have already seen Em playing at various live venues around the city, as she has graced stages at The Vanguard, Oxford Art Factory, Brighton Up Bar and The Sly Fox. If you have yet to catch her live, then fear not, because we’re pretty certain that 2015 is going to be a huge year for her. Keep up to date with her on Facebook and then, when she’s massive, you can brag to your friends about how you’ve liked her for ages.

“Paper Hearts”  will be released 6th February 2015.
