Video Premiere: Passerine – Set Me Alight

What better way to help you through hump day than by treating your eyes and ears to the Premiere of the brand new video clip from up n coming Melbourne band Passerine? Having spent the back end of 2014 holed away in their studio further formulating their distinct post-disco sound, the trio are today unleashing the video for the awesome ‘Set Me Alight’ into the world, exclusively through your friends at Something You Said.

The clip, directed by Jess Hallay, is a rain-soaked atmospheric treat of colour and shadow, of dark and light and the perfect accompaniment to Phoebe Dubar’s epic vocal, which soars magnificently through an infectious chorus.

Fronted by the dynamic vocalist and classically-trained viola player, Dubar, the three-piece have been turning heads for a while now. Their self-titled debut EP dropped last February and garnered heaps of radio airplay and blog love from Australia and overseas. This led to the band enjoying a glorious summer of live appearances, including playing alongside Tkay Maizda and Willow Beats at The Hills Are Alive, Bernard Fanning and Claire Bowditch at Live on the Lawn at Werribee Mansion and supporting disco legends Boney M’s dual sold-out Melbourne shows.

If you’re in Melbourne at the moment, then you can (and should) catch the band at the following venues:

Saturday 17 January – Sunset Series @ Fitzroy Gardens – Melbourne
Friday 13 February – ‘Set Me Alight’ Single Launch @ Revolver Bandroom – Melbourne
Sunday 8 February – St Kilda Music & Arts Festival – Melbourne
