March into Merivale 2015 tantalises

Five weeks of food/wine/adventure/surprise? Don’t mind if we do! Yup, March into Merivale is back, bringing over 50 events to tantalise Sydney’s tastebuds at a host of venues around the city.

You can start off with a yoga session by the water and a Monday Detox dinner, followed by a romantic Tuesday Date Night. Look out for the Wednesday Showcase series and learn how to cook at home with their talented chefs on Thursdays. Fridays bring the surprises, Saturdays awesome parties, after which you can indulge yourself with Sunday brunch and, later on, a sunset cocktail at Coogee Pavilion Rooftop. Then you just do it all again for five weeks!

DumplingLast Wednesday, we got a taste of things to come at the March into Merivale Launch Party. For one night only, the event took over Sydney’s ivy to bring Merivale’s best venues to the heart of the city. We ate yummy mushroom and water chestnut dumplings (pictured) from Mr Wong, feasted on ludicrously delicious haloumi wrapped in vine leaves from Coogee Pavilion and smashed pizza from Vinnie’s. For dessert we sampled hazelnut and banana macaron ice-cream sandwiches (pictured, below) courtesy of Functions & Events at Merivale. Yes, you did read that correctly. Hazelnut and banana macaron ice-cream sandwiches! If ever there was a suitable time to use the criminally overused acronym OMG, it is when taking a mouthful of this. OMG it’s amazing.
