Sydney, prepare for mouth-watering delights, musical performances, an authentic European-style Artisan Market and an open-air cinema:

They say good things come in threes and this is certainly the case with the BBR French World Festival, which is now in its third year. Marking the start of the Bastille Day weekend, the BBR French World Festival will be held at Customs House Foreshore, Circular Quay and is quickly becoming one of Sydney’s finest, having established itself as a chic and unique showcase of France.

This year, three French-speaking countries, Belgium, French Canada and Switzerland have been invited to take part in the festivities showcasing their finest products, cultural festivities and tourism activities their village has to offer.

The event, which is held between July 10 – 12th is a celebration of all things Red, White, and Blue with splashes of music, art, food and entertainment painting a vibrant array of French culture.

One of this year’s festival highlights include a French Cooking masterclass tent where guests can learn how to cook French cuisine, watch chef demonstrations from talented French, Canadian, Belgian and Swiss Chefs who will create traditional meals and desserts using fresh ingredients acquired from the festival market. This year, the festival includes a distinguished chef who specialises in cooking with seasonal truffles.

Friday evening kicks of the BBR French World Festival celebrations with a free Grand Opening Night performance by The Tattooed Tenor (Mathew Garwood, The Voice) followed by cabaret and to finish off an open-air cinema showcasing some much loved French classics.

Saturday night, Customs House Square transforms into a dance lover’s paradise with the help of one of France’s best DJ’s spinning Funky French beats for crowds to revel in accompanied by plenty of live daytime acts scheduled over the weekend to keep the crowd moving. This year’s musical lineup consists of Goldheist, Jake Howden, Allie & Ivy, Napoleonic, Taj Ralph, With Fox, Soulganic, and Danielle Deckard who will be performing on Customs House Main Stage.

Kid friendly, the BBR French World Festival contains a kid’s corner filled with an array of comics, sweets and a treasure trove of stories. Shoppers are spoilt for choice with an authentic European style Artisan Market and Antique Flea Market set up along with over 50 Marketplace stalls showcasing mouth-watering delights including French breads, smelly cheeses, delicious traditional pastries, and France’s finest wine and champagne.
