Astral People Fourth Birthday at ibis Hotel
On the weekend, Australian legends Astral People celebrated their fourth birthday in style, with a secret (and ace) shindig in an underground car park in the heart of Sydney.
With turns from some of the country’s most hot emerging live acts, such as Melbourne’s GL, Cassius Select, Collarbones and MoonHoliday, alongside renowned DJ’s Mike Who, Ben Fester, Preacha and a string of other guests, the gig was an epic afternoon which turned into a holy-shit-it’s-really-late-on-Sunday-night-and-I’ve-got-to-work-tomorrow kind of affair.
The whole thing went down in the underground car-park of the ibis Hotel in Darling Harbour, as lots of familiar faces from the local scene knocked back wine, beer, and cider while making their way through some grub. Not a bad way to spend a Sunday, we think you’ll agree.
It made up part of a series of music initiatives for ibis Hotels around the country, so stay tuned for more good stuff they’ve got going on. Bridie Commerford, VP of Marketing and Communications told us: “ibis Hotels have worked incredibly hard to develop an offering that today’s young music fans will enjoy, supporting events such as this and the Australian music scene is important for us. We want to support the local industry by working with select partners in using our locations for varying and exclusive events, offering music fans something truly unique”.
