Video Premiere: The Attics – Not Like

We’re excited to bring in the weekend by premiering the new video from The Attics, for their single, ‘Not Like’.

With sparse verses, minimal beats, wonky bass lines and a catchy chorus, the song is something of an introspective, sweetly sarcastic exploration of what you might call a “hometown.” Amid a tasty psych breakdown, the looping falsetto tells us, “hometown always is one place; she goes away, but always stays with me”.

Released on the 12th February, ‘Not Like’ was recorded with Hector Castillo, who is a two-time Grammy award winner that has worked with David Bowie, Bjork, Lou Reed and Roger Waters. Not too shabby!

In case you aren’t yet aware of The Attics, they have previously garnered attention from music blogs and radio stations with their singles ‘We Broke The Sky’ and ‘Ultraviolets’. The band are hitting up venues across Victoria, as well as headline shows in Melbourne, Sydney and Canberra. Catch them here in Feb/March:
