Review: Dustin Tebbutt at Sunday Sundown

Sunday SundownAnnastasia Robertson checked out the latest instalment of Merivale’s Sunday Sundown season:

Sydney Sundays are heating up thanks to Merivale and Corona. On a glorious day, the Coogee Pavilion rooftop was packed to the rafters with punters chasing the sun and ending their weekend on a high.

We caught the effervescent Dustin Tebbutt playing atop the venue, with the setting sun, the white sand and glistening water as the perfect backdrop to his set.

With the afternoon sun blistering down, Tebbutt cooled things down with fan favourites including; Home, Illuminate and The Breach. We were also treated to some new tracks, though it was difficult to appreciate them in their entirety in the loud and chatty setting.

In a new addition to his repertoire, the singer/songwriter played alongside drummer, Dave Jenkins Jr, creating a collection of harmonious tones that highlighted Tebbutt’s ever-enticing vocals, and his uniquely intriguing guitar riffs.
