Premiere: Wooden Indian Burial Ground

WIBG-press

Huddle in close and listen well, radiant creatures! For your weekend spinning pleasure, all the way from the dappled glow of Portland, Oregon, we’re just tickled to present to you an exclusive premiere of the latest longplaying slice of sonica from rollicking garage-rollers Wooden Indian Burial Ground.

Jagged and fuzzy and all licked over with full-bellied guitar, How’s Your Favourite Dreamer? is a sprawling iridescent wonder to behold. Fuelled by brash and bursting riffs, the record drives ever onwards into the salty desert with a jilted swagger and lilted, descending-into-derision vocals. Picking up rampant pace and then pulling back into swinging jaunts that dissolve you into their embrace like a sugar cube, How’s Your Favourite Dreamer? is a labyrinth of melting knots and wormholes.

Already garnering glowing reviews from le critiques like a good wave gathers boards, this right here is that delicious and rare breed of contemporary psychedelia that proper sinks its teeth in.

‘WIBG feed the electric insects that plaster your cracking windshield after a wine soaked road trip. You don’t have enough wiper fluid and your blades are bad, and the guitar strings keep breaking…somehow you can still make out the asphalt and a few notes well enough to get to the nearest gas station and clean the wrong from your exhausted brain…and you almost feel human again. But by the time you get a few more miles down the highway you’re somewhat blind and half deaf from driving through the drum clouds and the bass storm with your head out some weird excuse for a window…and you can only hear one phrase on repeat from the humming of the road – “This song is about surfing on Acid, with your dad. Thanks dudes.”‘

Mmmmhm, here it is. Dive in and dig it, my friends!
