FBi Radio’s Brush With Fame returns

fbi brush with fame

Ever wanted to score yourself some sweet musician-made artwork? And not just artwork from any old musicians, but one-off creations from the likes of Grimes, Mac Demarco, Courtney Barnett, Future Islands, The Rubens, Best Coast, Thundercat and more?

Well, now’s your chance because Sydney’s FBi Radio (our favourite radio station, btw) is bringing back its auction of masterpieces, ‘Brush With Fame’ for the third year.

A fundraiser for the independent broadcaster, FBi’s Brush With Fame offers bidders the chance to own a one-of-a-kind canvas: hand-drawn by some of the your favourite musicians who have visited the station in recent months. The auction is happening on eBay RIGHT NOW and runs until Sunday 20 March (9pm AEDT).

Grimes.pngYou can get yourself pieces from international artists such as DIIV, Neneh Cherry, Alabama Shakes, Albert Hammond Jr (from The Strokes), TV On The Radio, Run The Jewels and Best Coast as well as the best of Australia’s scene, including Alison Wonderland, Cosmo’s Midnight, Peter Bibby, The Rubens and Total Giovanni.

There is even a lock of Dune Rats’ hair up for grabs with the Brisbane band’s artwork, as cut off by Courtney Barnett during the FBi x Laneway Festival radio takeover last year. (An optional addition – the canvas can also be purchased hair-free if that’s less creepy for you).

So get bidding in the hope of securing some amazing, individual art from one of your favourite musicians and be happy in the knowledge that, in doing so, you’re helping to fund a magnificent and absolutely vital cog in the Australian music/culture scene and radio industry. It’s a win-win situation for everyone!
