San Francisco heroes Deafheaven headed over to Australia to perform at Sydney Opera House as part of Vivid LIVE. Renowned as one of the world’s best live acts, the five-piece delivered a stunning – and deliciously heavy – set which took influence from black metal, post-rock and shoegaze.

We sent photographer Adam Davis-Powell along to what was only the band’s second ever Sydney show, which went down at the Joan Sutherland Theatre at the iconic Circular Quay venue. Here are his shots. Click an image to enlarge.
