Are you ready for Laneway Festival?

The ever-excellent Laneway Festival kicked off at the weekend over in Singapore and comes back to Australia this week, starting in Brisbane and then heading to Melbourne, Adelaide, Sydney and Fremantle.

If you’re heading along then be sure to get organised! Check out the playing times and maps at the Laneway website and download the Laneway app before you set off.

DON’T MISS

It’s another stellar line-up this year. The acts that you’ll definitely want to plan your day around are: Julia Jacklin, Camp Cope, Car Seat Headrest, Nicholas Allbrook, Jess Kent and Sampa The Great. Oh, and Tame Impala of course. Then there’s Nick Murphy (Chet Faker), Jagwar Ma, Gang of Youths, GL and Glass Animals. In fact, you should prolly just run from stage to stage like a maniac trying to see ABSOLUTELY EVERYONE. That’s what we usually do.

FOOD

Don’t bother having a big brekkie before you make your way to the festival site either, because there are heaps of newly announced vendors added to the already huge food and beverage line-up. In Brisbane, BBQ specialists Crafted Q are joining the mix, alongside Hi-Yo, Fiery Deli and the producers from Wandering Cooks. In Melbourne, look out for the authentic Cajun street food, artisan cheese c/o Milk the Cow, and more.

Festival-goers at Port Adelaide are in for a treat. Try La Chiva (South American street food), delicious Southeast Asian street food by Sookie La La, or Low and Slow American BBQ – the name says it all. Plus, there will be hot doughnuts, churros and coffee at Adelaide’s new doughnut van (Van Dough) and Sunshine ice blocks made from fresh fruit.

In Sydney, check out the Agape Organic Food Truck, Paella Time, delicious Nepali cuisine and more. If you’re in Freo say hello to Sabroso Cantina (sliders, tacos and more), snack on dumplings from Jumplings, or visit local fish & chip heroes Sweetlips.

If it’s ice-cream that floats your boat, check out New Zealand Natural ice cream carts in Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney and Freo.

DRINK

You can wash all that food down with cold craft beers in every city at Laneway 2017. Stone & Wood will be in Brisbane, Sydney and Adelaide, and Canberra’s new craft brewers Capital Brewing Co will be stationed in Brisbane and Sydney. There’ll be Mismatch Brew in Adelaide; Pirate Life’s American style ales in Adelaide, Sydney, and Melbourne; and East 9th Brewing in Sydney and Melbourne (hot tip: try the Ginger Beer).

Other Melbourne vendors include local experts Shikki, Temple and West City Brewers. In Freo, kegs will be brought to you by Feral, Otherside Brewing and Colonial (one of the first breweries to open in the region).

THE LANEWAY FESTIVAL PODCAST

Check out episode two of the new podcast ‘Laneway Presents: Side of Stage’. In this ep, Laneway Festival co-founder Danny Rogers speaks with Corey Smyth (manager of Dave Chappelle and Vince Staples, amongst other things) about growing up in Harlem, how he sold a rare baseball card to kickstart his career in music, and lots more.
