Laneway knows how to keep it varied

The legacy of Laneway Festival is one of my all-time favourites. For what started as club show in the alleyways of Melbourne, has become an international indie festival juggernaut. Each year Laneway brings the freshest acts from all over the world not only to Australia, but via the shores of Singapore and New Zealand. This festival shows no sign of slowing with each innovative and exciting line-up generating buzz and frenzy, selling out dates all over.

2018 is set to bring another vibrant bill to life in the unique venues across the festival network. The top of the bill is brightened by the illustrious and idiosyncratic Father John Misty. Gone are the days of Fleet Foxes, J. Tillman is now deep into his third release with Pure Comedy after the success of I Love You Honeybear and Fear Fun. The ultimate in indie folk, Father John Misty can’t be missed.

Another top notch on the line-up goes to The War On Drugs, the neo-psychedelics of this six-piece from Pennsylvania are always read to create a chill vibe and unleash that festival spirit.

Laneway knows how to keep it varied and that’s where we find ourselves spoiled with hip hop Anderson Paak and the Free Nationals. Laneway is often on top of the hip-hop game bringing fresh buzz artists to our shores each year.

Local produce is never left out of this annually impressive bill, with Australian darling Amy Shark leading the charge, followed by City Calm Down, Rolling Blackouts (Coastal Fever) and Byron Bay’s The Babe Rainbow.

All Triple J movers and shakers are here for a gorgeous summer tour you’d be crazy to miss.
