Groovin The Moo will be a darn good party

Australia, it’s that time of year again, when the dust and dirt is stirred from the pastures and show grounds of bustling rural and coastal towns for Groovin The Moo 2018. With strong lineups year after year, Groovin The Moo just keeps growing and treating crowds near and far.

The festival has firm roots in locations at Bendigo, Bunbury, Canberra, Maitland, Townsville and Wayville, treating folk a little too far from our nation’s major cities to music, art and community initiatives.

This year’s lineup includes legendary acts such as Grinspoon and Paul Kelly, whom are bound to pull a string of nostalgia or two. International heavy weights Royal Blood are back in the country after their sold-out Sydney show and Splendour slot in 2017, to electrify crowds with their 2-man, heavy hitting rock anthems.

Local smooth boys, Winston Surfshirt will also take to the stage with their surf rock/hip hop sound.,having gained a steady following thanks to their grooving track ‘Be About You’, which finished at number 27 in the 2017 Triple J Hottest 100.

Other Triple J artists on high rotation will also be at the touring festival, with acts such as Alex Lahey, Mallrat, Ocean Alley, Vera Blue and Confidence Man bringing their bright and colourful sounds to the masses.

But the fun doesn’t stop at the stages! The Commoonity programs will have you entertained in between sets with their DIY Maker Station, which will have you body-painting and whipping up your own zines under the guidance of some pretty cool artists and expert DIY crafters.

Also don’t forget the inclusion of the Heaps Gay Milk Bar, spreading sweet tunes, positive vibes and of course – glitter! to the LGBTQI+ communities (and beyond) within Canberra, Maitland and Bunbury this year. Heaps Gay aims to spread support and awareness to the LGBQTI+ community in rural regions.

Groovin The Moo is yet again shaping up to be a darn good party. So, you know what to do – check out the full line up below, relish this little nostalgic number (see Grinspoon below) and get yourself a ticket!

Oh and the overall lightly imposed theme this year is DIY-craft. So why not pull out some of your home made digs, or even turn grandmas crocheted throw into a poncho? (ask her first for goodness sake).
