Music video: Elizabeth Hughes, Moth

Remember when somethingyousaid.com featured the sweet sounds of Sydney’s Salta and their music video that would make hemophobics squirm? Well, leading lady of that outfit, Elizabeth Hughes has broken away to form a solo act and it’s just as pretty (and much less gory).

Her solo music relies on her delicate acoustic guitar finger-picking, with her sound aided by her subtle, gentle vocals, with the result not unlike the music of Anais Mitchell or Sharon Van Etten. Moth is a highly enjoyable tune, I love that manic tempo change that Elizabeth executes so well leading into the chorus, it’s pretty stuff.

You may follow Elizabeth Hughes on her Facebook page or on her Unearthed profile where you may download Moth for free.
