Remix: Davidge’s Slo Light by Rob Smith
Although you might never have heard of Davidge before, never scrolled past his name on your music-playing device, never mentioned him to a friend when attempting to impress them with your excellent knowledge of all the happenings within the music world, it’s more than likely that his work has been heard by yours and many other ears before.
Like Massive Attack. You’ve heard of them, right? Well, he worked on Mezzanine. How about David Bowie or Snoop Dogg? Yep, he’s done stuff with them too. And for the gamers out there, Davidge even composed, arranged and produced the sounds featured in Halo 4.
Now turning his back on helping others make a name for themselves, Davidge (known by his mother as Neil Davidge) has put on his producing hat to create his debut solo record, with a slew of collaborators – including Sandie Shaw, Cate Le Bon, Karima Francis and Stephonik Youth – all assisting with his musical vision.
Treat your ears to a mix of Davidge’s track Slo Light below, lovingly reworked (and sexually enhanced by fellow Bristolian producer Rob Smith).
You can pick up a copy of Davidge’s Slo Light on March 2nd. Keep up to date with him till then via Facebook.
