The Hunger Games’ District Heroes
The first two Hunger Games instalments offered utterly engaging and thrilling teen action with a brain and a conscience. Also, Katniss Everdeen proved to be a strong, female role-model. However, if you’ve been following the franchise, you’ll know that, despite Everdeen’s best efforts, shit is getting seriously real in Panem. This November, we arrive at The Hunger Games: Mockingay, Part 1.
As is de rigueur these days, the final book in the series is split into two films. Part 1 sees features Jennifer Lawrence reprising her role as Katniss Everdeen, as she’s whisked away to the hidden District 13 to lead a rebellion against the tyrannical Capitol. As the war that will determine the fate of Panem escalates, Katniss must decipher for herself who she can trust and what needs to be done.
The film also stars Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Elizabeth Banks, Stanley Tucci, Jeffrey Wright, Natalie Dormer and Gwendoline Christie of Game of Thrones, Julianne Moore, and the late, great Philip Seymour Hoffman. And we’ve just been given a sneak preview of the District Heroes, who will appear in Mockingay, Part 1.
Check out some of these cool looking heroes below. The Hunger Games has always had amazing aesthetics, and that trend seems set to continue if these posters are any barometer.
