Premiere: Joni In The Moon, War and Porn
Today we’re excitedly premiering the latest video from Perth-based Joni In The Moon, which also acts as a taster of their eagerly anticipated upcoming sophomore album.
Joni In The Moon are stargazing siblings, Joni and Josh Hogan. This new single is as experimental as ever and sees an evolution of their otherworldly take on folktronica and world beats, shifting it towards a more heavy synth/electro poppy direction, yet retaining a strong sense of identity and personality.
In keeping with their sonic evolution, the duo are going different places lyrically too, with a much more political and social message being delivered in this new track. As Joni explains, “War and Porn is my reaction to how awful it feels watching the news and feeling powerless to help. It’s about first-world problem guilt, and the personal battle I go through comparing my own white privilege against global atrocities. It’s the issue I have with a western media saturated with sex and violence, and how that infects the minds of our youths who then grow up to perpetrate such things.”

“War and Porn” will be released 24th July 2015
