Getting To Know Home Lives
New York-based Home Lives are an up-and-coming duo definitely worth keeping on your radar. We asked them to tell us more about themselves:
We are Mike and Britt, AKA – Home Lives, a couple of New Yorkers churning out catchy pop tunes that intentionally contradict their dark and cynical lyrical subject matter.
New York is where you go to see people screaming and waving lead pipes on the subway during your morning commute. Also where dreams come true! Maybe.
Cool Waves, Young Blood is our debut EP, recorded with engineer Chris Daly at Salvation Recording Co. in New Paltz, NY, featuring our pal Noah Bowman of Diet Cig on drums, and available through the swell folks at Monday Records and Fox Food Records.
We spend too much time fawning over our pets. NOT. There’s no such thing. Mike has a black Labrador Retriever named Lily and Britt has a Siamese cat named Snickers.
We’re currently listening to… Saintseneca: Such Things, PWR BTTM: Ugly Cherries, Eskimeaux: O.K., All Dogs: Kicking Every Day, and plenty of Fleetwood Mac.
It might surprise people to learn that when we were youngsters, our moms were best friends and worked in the same school, which we both went to.
In 2016, we’re going to release our debut full-length LP, which we may just be recording VERY soon.
