Interview: Jessie Andrews is fearless

jessie andrews

American Jessie Andrews has no fear in taking on any opportunity. She’s a DJ, producer, model, actress, jewellery designer, adult film star and Sol Republic ambassador with a huge social media following. Bobby Townsend has a chat with her:

Thanks for talking to us Jessie! First up, you’re quite the multi-tasker. Is it hard to balance your time between all of these pursuits?
It’s not hard to balance anything when it’s something you love to do.

Do you ever get to relax? If so, how do you spend your downtime?
I do. I like space out my relaxation time during the day. Whether it’s getting a coffee, laying by the pool, yoga or meeting friends for lunch. When I’m alone, I work the most.

Can you tell me about your work as a SOL REPUBLIC ambassador? What does this involve?
I try and get involved as much as I can with SOL. I just shot the campaign for the SHADOW, will be doing takeovers on social media, and wearing my customized headphones during my set. I’m always spreading the word about how great their products are and linking other artists with their great team.

What prompted you to get involved with SOL REPUBLIC?
I had a ton of DJ friends wearing the headphones. They told me how quality the products were and how easy they are to work with.

Tell me about your DJing. When did you get started and how did you learn the skills?
In about 2012. I honestly learned from watching. You can do anything you put your mind to.

What are some tunes that have been floating your boat lately?
Lately I’ve been playing Christian Nielsen, Weiss, Boddika, Art Dept., MJC, and Lewis Boardman

Considering what a muli-tasker you are, do you ever envisage a time when you will focus on just one career path and, if so, which one? Or do you think you’ll always have multiple things on the go at once?
I don’t think so. I’d definitely get bored.

Do you feel that your work as an adult movie star has opened doors to you with regard to your other creative pursuits or do you think some people don’t take you as seriously because of it?
Most definitely. I wouldn’t be here without it. A lot of people don’t take me seriously. But a lot of people don’t know me. But it’s just an opinion, which everyone is entitled to.

How do you deal with the haters?
Wear my hater blockers, of course.

Tell us something we’d be surprised to learn about you…
I just got my first scar ever at 23-years-old from a Moto bike accident in Thailand.

And finally, what does 2016 have in store for you?
My goal is to be open in 2016. To be open to every opportunity, adventure, relationship, opinion and to myself. To be honest about what I want and how I feel. I think that will help me open a lot of doors this coming year. Other than that, you’ll have to watch and see what I’ve already got planned 😉
