The Dressmaker at St.George OpenAir
St.George OpenAir Cinema 2016 has been in full swing for a while now, and if you are looking for something to do on Australia Day then how about going to see The Dressmaker? It is is a bittersweet film set in early 1950s Australia starring Kate Winslet, Liam Hemsworth, Judy Davis and Hugo Weaving.
This Aussie comedy/drama was a hit at the box office and it got rave reviews, so if you missed seeing it in cinemas last year, this is a good opportunity to catch it. “But wait,” we hear you say. “Pre-sale tickets have sold out. You’re getting our hopes up for nothing.” Well, that’s why we are here, to give you a cheeky tip. So listen up and keep this under your hat. There will be a limited number of tickets available for sale at the Event Box Office from 6:30pm on the day. The exact number of tickets is advised at midday on the screening day on the website and Facebook page. Indeed, this is the case for films across the entire season, so stay on your toes and you might secure yourself some sick last-minute tickets.
Along with the The Dressmaker, the 2016 program features an exceptional line up of fourteen premiere and preview screenings, including Carol, Brooklyn, Room, The Danish Girl, Spotlight, Trumbo and Steve Jobs.
The 2016 season runs from 8 January to 19 February at Mrs Macquaries Point, Sydney.
