Interview: Getting to know MARLOE.

Brisbane’s MARLOE. has just dropped her new single. We asked her to tell us about herself:

I am… currently sitting in my living room drinking tea and listening to the “Chill af” playlist on Spotify whilst tackling all the things on my neverending to do list.

Ruminate is… a song about how it feels to fall for someone. I wrote pieces of this song at different stages throughout the end of a relationship. I think in a weird way writing about how it feels to fall in love is what helped me to fall out of it.

Home is… big family dinners, cuddles from my niece, deep chats with my best friends. Anything where I’m surrounded by all of my favourite people.

I’ve never… read the Harry Potter books, although I LOVE all of the movies.

I spend too much time… in my head. I am the queen of overthinking and letting my thoughts run wild. This can be really great for self reflection and improvement or REALLY bad haha.

It might surprise people to learn that… despite being in this industry and sharing all these personal experiences through song, I am quite a private person when it comes to things that are close to my heart. I am a weird mix of extrovert/introvert. When you first meet me you’ll realise I’m extremely open, maybe even too much (sorry mum), however it takes a lot for me to then let you in on a much deeper level.

In the future… I hope the world of social media does a backflip and we aren’t as consumed by what everyone else is doing. If I wasn’t in an industry where I need to connect with people through these platforms I most likely wouldn’t have it.
