Getting to know KHAOS EMRLD

Eora/Sydney-based hyperpop artist KHAOS EMRLD has recently revealed his debut single. We asked him to tell us about himself:

I am… KHAOS EMRLD, lover of all weird music, and rather new to this hyperpop thing. 

‘getting better’ is… my debut song and cute attempt at making something that sounds like you tried to feed your distortion pedal to your Nintendo Gamecube. It’s my angsty frustrations laid out over some sparkly synths and silly guitars as I continue to ask myself “am I ever getting better at all?”

Home is… a warm hug from the right person. The right song for the right moment. Layers of laughter. Someone to talk with about your day. A library. A mosh pit. Wherever you get the best version of yourself, that’s home. Unless you mean geographically, then Sydney. Sydney is home. 

I spend too much time… trying to negotiate peace with my own brain. 

I’ve never… had anyone get my name wrong. Not even once. 

The last couple of years have been… a hurricane in a dreamland where life was not the same and my most said word was “sorry”, but somehow I still ended up feeling like myself again.
