Getting To Know Presley Davis Jr
Presley Davis Jr has released three simultaneous albums; Roadside Magnolia, Torana Americana and Birdlife, collectively called the Eclecta Trifecta. We asked him to tell us about himself:
I am…A multi genre musician/songwriter and compulsive creative. Also a pretty good lawn bowler.
2023 has so far been…over for some time. 2024 has so far been a really great challenge for me in juggling all the aspects of releasing 3 albums at once. I feel like I am being torn apart at the seams but the music is being received well and that makes it all worthwhile.
My Eclectica Trifecta project is… a chance for my fans to hear my influences separately. It has been very revealing to me personally the way the distinct styles of the albums came together. I have always weaved my influences together in an eclectic style but inhabiting them for separate albums has seemed more natural. I also didn’t realize I was a producer, or how much I would enjoy it.
I spend too much time… thinking about a bazillion creative ideas and not focusing on the ones I have in play at the moment.
I’ve never… been happier than I have recently. I was misdiagnosed as a depressive with generalized anxiety as a young person and suffered for decades with treatments that didn’t work. It turns out I was suffering from a scorching case of ADHD and with the right treatment I am now a different person.
Roadside Magnolia, Torana Americana and Birdlife, aka the Eclecta Trifecta, are due out on Friday July 23 exclusively on Bandcamp.
