Getting to know The Nomadic
The Nomadic’s sophomore album, New Horizons, lands on December 14. We asked them to tell us more:
We are… The Nomadic! Rob Gaylard (singer-songwriter, guitar, piano, vocals), Ollie Thorpe (Guitar) Brendan Clark (Bass), Miles Thomas (drums), Dan Frizza (keyboards, arrangement, production). Rob grew up internationally including 5 different countries before the age of 10! He then worked internationally with the UN in Somalia, Kenya, Sudan, Afghanistan, Indonesia, Israel and Palestine. Hence the name “The Nomadic”!
2023/24 has so far been...productive! We have released 8 singles ahead of New Horizons: Treading water, All Changed, First Light, Don’t Give Up on Your Dreams, Hearts and Minds, Revolution, The Absolution and Marie Antoinette.
Our upcoming single/album/tour will be… hopefully pretty fun and epic! It has been a long journey from songwriting, to recording the album in Sept-Dec 2022 at Forbes Studios, to release this year!
Home is… Sydney… for all of us except Dan who is in Byron Bay!
We spend too much time… dreaming about music, potential song ideas and melodies, and interesting and alternative lyrics!
We never… take for granted what a privilege it is to write and record and then release music!
