Free double download from Shout Timber

Do you want a couple of free songs from Shout Timber? If you like upbeat, melodic indie pop, with hints of Indian heritage, then your answer should be, “Yes please, that would be lovely.” If you need convincing then have a looksee at the above clip, which plays on two sides of a culturally relevant conundrum: rich and poor, happiness and unhappiness. Rich Man follows a character who has everything but is still unhappy, exploring the idea that joy derives from the people in our lives, and not from the all the stuff we own.

On the flip side, the other downloadable track, East India Trading Company, is Shout Timber’s take on travelling through India for the first time – the barrage on the senses: the colours, the people, the sounds, the smell. While the people there may be poor, they are quite the opposite of the Rich Man: happy, grateful, and genuine.
