Boomgates are a bunch of Puppets

I give the new Boomgates video clip for their track Flood Plains a lot of creativity credit points. Brown paper bags act as hand puppets which, with bits of steel wool and yarn for hair, loosely resemble the band members. There is a weird appearance of an Ellen DeGeneres puppet and some pretty basic green-screening that visualises the lyrics. It’s a lighthearted, entertaining accompaniment to a good song from a band that doesn’t take things too seriously.

The band play songs from their new record, Double Natural, at The Evelyn Rooftop, Melbourne tonight (Saturday 15th December). If you are in the hood, give them a look/listen
