It’s A Hard Knock Life For Electric Guest

There is something about musical theatre which just isn’t appreciated anymore. Perhaps it’s the flamboyant dance choreography, or the masses of costumed extras, or the exorbitant price for admission. However, LA act Electric Guest reincarnate elements of Broadway for their newly released video The Bait, and all without the admission charge.

With the single taken from debut album Mondo which also gave us the much played This Head I Hold, The Bait shows that Electric Guest don’t mind taking part in a bit of choreography now and again. Especially if this choreography is in conjunction with downtrodden extras and an upbeat song. The tune itself is a soulful indie gem with a danceable beat and frontman Asa Tascone’s smooth lilting vocals. Combined with his undeniable dance moves and you’ve got a musical theatre star in Tascone yet.

The Oliver inspired release video leaves us asking “please sir, may we have some more?”
