Something in the Air with The Hics

Albeit in the 18-to-21 age bracket,
Hic’s are smooth, self-produced and deserve their sudden industry attention. The band’s potential seen by the likes of management ATC (goddamn Radiohead and Nick Cave) and have gotten props at the Gilles Peterson Worldwide Awards.

The Hics’ sound takes cues from the likes of James Blake and The XX, but with an added six-piece band of frustratingly young and talented musicians. Throw in a saxophonist and you’ve got a lot of potential right here. Damn, these guys are disarmingly good. With soulful cross gender harmonies, a post-dub beat, and that climatic saxophone, Cold Air is definitely worth a listen.
