Video: Mount Kimbie – Home Recording

Lifted from the English electronic band’s second longplayer, Cold Spring Fault Less Youth, which was released earlier this year, is the cracking new track, Home Recording. Dominic Maker and Kai Campos’ moody song – that I wrote about in my review of their album – now has an equally moody video, captured by acclaimed film maker, Anthony Dickenson.

There is a clever use of layering glass and light that captures the shuffling scenes, meaning you must focus on a spot to know what you are looking at. Silhouettes and woodland scenery are fitted together in one frame, with bolts of fluorescent light seen through blurry glass capturing different spaces throughout the 4-odd minute song.
