TRUE, It’s Not The Wind – Music

true

Hailing from Bern in Switzerland are TRUE, an act comprised of classically-trained jazz musicians that create 80’s RnB-infused synth pop. How kooky! The result is extremely infectious, with those sugary female vocals and effortless melodies on an analog synth.

TRUE are soon to release their EP, Videos, which stays true (excuse the pun) to their jazz musical upbringing, as it was written through free-form improvisation. The young band called themselves TRUE as, lyrically, the output is an exercise in truth itself. They have used heavy emotional experiences, personal obsessions and vulnerability as material for the tunes.

The live drum work coupled with electronic percussion and the nostalgia of the sounds is great. It’s music that was created recently, yet sounds old and is likely to be relevant and enjoyable for listeners in years to come. Two thumbs firmly up.

You can listen to ‘It’s Not The Wind’ below. TRUE’S EP, ‘Videos’ is set to be released on March 3 via Mouthwatering Records, you can sample a teaser here or simply keep up to date with the band via Facebook
