Conor Oberst Taronga ticket giveaway!

The somethingyousaid.com team never needs much of an excuse to venture to the zoo. So when we discovered that not one, but TWO of our favourite acts of ALL-TIME are performing at Taronga Zoo this Friday, our diary was suitably marked. Yup, Conor Oberst will team up with The Felice Brothers for Twilight at Taronga on 6th March, for what will be the greatest thing to happen there since Australia’s first elephant birth. Excitingly, we have a double pass to GIVEAWAY to one of our readers.

If you’ve yet to check out a Twilight show, you should, and what better time than with this phenomenal double bill? Named the Best Songwriter of 2008 by Rolling Stone Magazine, Oberst first came to mainstream recognition as the front man and songwriter for Bright Eyes. You’ll also know him from the Mystic Valley Band, indie-supergroup Monsters of Folk and Desaparecidos. Now, working under his own name, his latest release Upside Down Mountain has been hailed by critics as his finest work to date.

The Felice Brothers, too, are magnificent. With their old-fashioned yarns of jailhouses, alcohol, drugs, woozy romance and family ties, they are definitely worth arriving in time for.

The transport to-and-from the venue is easy and involves a pleasant ferry ride, which is included in the price of a ticket (which, of course, is zero, if you win our giveaway). Also, the walk through the site means you get to check out a few of the animals in the zoo. You can bring your own food (not booze – that’s on sale there) or can buy it when you get there.

For your chance to win a double pass, all you need to do is answer one simple question.

SORRY EVERYONE, HIS GIG HAS SINCE PASSED (IT WAS ACE).

Head to the Twilight at Taronga website for tickets and to see the full line-up of all the remaining shows.
