Photos: Thee Oh Sees at Newtown Social Club
One of the most influential garage-rock bands of the 2000’s, Thee Oh Sees are currently embarking on an Australian tour. It was a highly anticipated return, both from fans and band alike. “It’s been a few years since Thee Oh Sees has been able to tour Australia,” the San Francisco group’s frontman and founding member John Dwyer told us. “Its a long and boring story, believe me. I have always loved it there. The people, the bands, the outback, the beach, the beer… the list goes on and on.”
We sent photographer Heather Vousden along to their show at Newtown Social Club, where there was double drumming ahoy, crowd-surfing aplenty and where support came from ever-entertaining locals, Straight Arrows.
