Getting to know Positively Positive Party

Now in its fifth year, ZOO will take over the closing day of Melbourne Music Week this month with a nine-hour laneway party, featuring live music, beat-makers, performances and visual arts. On the bill are Positively Positive Party, toting classic funk, boogie and disco dancefloor-fillers. We asked them to tell us about themselves:

We are… Gus E. Boi, Jommy and Fantastic Gabe. A bunch of m8s that just happen to have a unified taste in pre-2000’s party jams and seeing people happy!

Home is… Melbourne, Australia. Jommy and Gabe were born and raised here, Gus moved down from Sydney for a change of pace in 2012 and landed directly in their arms.

ZOO Laneway Party will be… a shining example of how this city gets down! No negative vibes, all inclusive and overflowing with amazing music.

We spend too much time… crafting life-hacks.

We’ve never… hired a really big suit, sat on each other’s shoulders and pretended to be one really big person.

It might surprise people to learn that… we’ve never hired a really big suit, sat on each other’s shoulders and pretended to be one really big person.

In 2018, we hope to… play some big ol’ festivals, throw another bangin’ warehouse party or two and maybe get an international tour happening.

Melbourne Music Week ZOO Laneway Party at takes place on November 25 at Section 8 and Ferdydurke from 2pm, featuring the above artists. For more details about tickets and line-up, head over to the Facebook event page.
