New Franz Ferdinand? For realzies? Yowsers! We’ve been admirers of the Scottish four-piece since way back when we saw them in Brighton during the Take Me Out era. Then there was that time we hung with guitarist Nick McCarthy in a Sydney hotel and he was pretty much the nicest person ever. And he can rap in German, but that’s another story.
Anyhoo, we’re excited that the band are back with a video to new single, Right Action – the lead cut from their forthcoming record, Right Thoughts, Right Words, Right Action, to be released on Friday August 23. Produced by Joe Goddard and Alexis Taylor from Hot Chip and mixed by David Fridmann, Right Action is directed by Jonas Odell, also responsible for the Take Me Out video. The visual link between the two is clear to see.
Franz Ferdinand are playing at this November’s Harvest Festival in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. Tickets go on sale on July 12th, so get yours before they all sell out.
