Giant Drag farewell European tour
We first chanced upon amazing California duo Giant Drag when they supported The Cribs across the United Kingdom in 2006. Their outstanding and acclaimed debut, Hearts & Unicorns, was released around the same time and remained on our stereo for a very long time. Since then, the two-piece became a one-piece in the form of frontwoman/guitarist Annie Hardy who, as well as losing a band member, also found herself sans record label. Understandably, Hardy endured a torrid time trying to put a second record out.
It finally arrived earlier this year by the name of Waking Up Is Hard To Do, and Hardy is set to tour it with a full band across the UK in September. But this isn’t your average album promo tour. No siree. This jaunt around Britain also acts as Giant Drag’s farewell. Hardy has her fingers in a couple of other musical pies these days, you see, and plans to focus on them instead.
So, if you’re UK/Europe based, this is your last chance ever to catch Giant Drag live. Do not miss this opportunity to see the fucking brilliant performer “say goodbye to the band properly so I can concentrate on my new project Annie Hardy and the Psychos.”
In order to make this tour happen, Hardy has launched an IndieGoGo campaign. Touring another country is fucking expensive without the clout of a label behind you, so if you wanna help her out and perhaps score yourself an invite to the super-special secret FINAL SHOW EVER in London (tickets for which will not be available to the general public), then you can contribute to the tour fund here.
