Music Video: Elizabeth Rose, The Good Life
Being the only lady included in the esteemed inthemix’s 25 Under 25: Young Stars Leading into 2013, and also this year’s SOYA winner, Elizabeth Rose is a fine example for females making sweet movements on the electronic scene in Australia. She’s certainly not letting that dude Flume get all the credit for this breed of the genre being produced Down Under, which is making serious waves abroad.
What is great about Elizabeth Rose is the use of her own samples and her pitch-perfect, powerful and commanding voice, which is impressive due to her pint-sized, sometimes meek disposition that we have enjoyed on stage before.
The video for The Good Life is a pretty portrayal of a young boy’s life in suburbia, the scene of the woman ashing into the sink is gross (hygiene!) but the lovely Elizabeth is shown in neat outfits and our love for the singer and her blend of soft disco grows ever more.
The song will feature on Elizabeth Rose’s forthcoming EP which is set to be released early next year. For now, keep up to date with her going-ons on her Facebook. She’ll be touring the single with fellow beatmaker Charles Murdoch at the following dates and all tickets will be available for purchase at her website.
She’s also playing at Field Day in Sydney on New Year’s Day. Grab your tickets to that, here.
