End of year review: Our showbiz chums

P1090298-001

As well as finding out what’s been exciting somethingyousaid.com’s contributors this year, we thought we’d also ask a handful of our showbiz buddies what they’ve been digging. So we called on model, dancer and designer Simone Kerr, singer/songwriter and author Jim Bob, actress Sara Malakul Lane, The AU Review’s founder Larry Heath and singer/songwriter Annie Hardy (pictured above with our editor Bobby). Here’s what has been floating their boats:

WHAT WAS YOUR HIGHLIGHT OF THE YEAR?
2013’s highlights were mainly about work: filming Jailbait this summer (there’s a review coming on the site this week), also filming Cowboys and Dinos in Bozeman, Montana in the spring, Getting my 3rd FHM cover, hanging out in Bangkok (twice) with my family, getting my first tattoo, leaving my treacherous twenties behind. I’m ending the year with an amazing project, Sunchoke, a psychological thriller with some really talented actors and filmmakers behind it. I am excited to be spending Christmas and New Years in NY.

ANNIE HARDY
It’s been a funny ol’ year for Giant Drag‘s Annie Hardy. Having finally released her band’s sophomore album, seven years after the debut, she simultaneously called an end to the band. However, her farewell tour of the UK was so great that she u-turned and has decided to carry on the band and go even harder than ever before. Great news! Keep up to date with her on Twitter. Anyhoo, here are her selections from 2013:

WHAT WAS YOUR HIGHLIGHT OF THE YEAR?
Accepting, loving and being my true self for the first time to such a degree whilst on the Giant Drag Farewell Tour. I finally understood why I was doing this to begin with and why I definitely can’t stop, and probably shouldn’t even change the name so I won’t. I think that and each and every poisonous vulture pariah that I called a friend disappearing right when I needed them most were key to my growth. Most important things to achieve nirvana (imho are…) Radical Honesty, Extreme Transparency, Forgiveness and Openness and introspection. Get your awakening on bitchez!
